The felted work Sword Swallow, Sword Throw! features a series of diamond-shaped pieces, each composed of four sewn elements. The title itself carries a magical, almost ritualistic tone, evoking a sense of spectacle where these acts transcend performance. Within these shapes, sword swallowers and throwers are depicted, sourrounded by snakes, draped curtains or headless figures. The interconnected, geometrical pieces suggest a narrative, where danger, mastery and transformation interwine. Themes of control, vulnerability and the blurred lines between reality and illusion are explored.
