Marbendill is a photo series featuring the artist wearing a self-crocheted costume while posing on a beach. The costume, made of colorful threads, covers nearly the entire body, with visible arms emphasizing the body’s length. The mask obscures the wearer's identity, focusing the interpretation on the pose and body language.

The costume evokes various associations such as a worm, fishing net, sea creature, phallus, cactus, sleeping bag, or condom. It is not functional clothing but resembles a second skin, clinging or trapping the body like leather or a net. The cold beach setting emphasizes the costume's protective role, and the colors stand out against the overcast sky.

Inspired by Icelandic mythology, Marbendill explores a genderless, transitional state, reflecting on gender identity and the crisis of modern masculinity. The use of crocheting, traditionally associated with women’s craft, challenges stereotypes and prompts a shift in perspective on gender roles.
